A The Summit Academy Charter School FAC’s goal is to promote a sense of community among our school families and encourage the spirit of active involvement and volunteerism among parents, grandparents, and scholars. The FAC is managed by a volunteer slate of elected officers. Each family at Summit Academy is collectively represented through the FAC.
Joining the Summit Academy Family Achievement Council (FAC) is an excellent way to involve yourself in the school and your child’s education. The FAC is a body comprised of parents of Summit scholars, faculty and administration. The FAC develops its own by-laws, elects officers, and will hold regular monthly meetings.
The FAC should be representative of all parents within the school, including parents of special education scholars and English Language Learners, as well as scholars who are eligible for Title I or gifted and talented services.
The FAC helps parents learn about the school, share ideas, and enrich the school. The specific roles of the FAC depend on Summit Academy and its members, but among its responsibilities are selecting members for the Community and Citywide Education Councils and organizing fundraisers, workshops, and family events.
