Community Partnerships

Introduction to our Community Partnerships

Summit Academy Charter School identifies as a Community School. Every Community School is different and reflects the strengths and needs of its students, families, and the local community. However, the most successful Community Schools are anchored in a set of common values that serve as a foundation:

  • Strong instruction designed to provide personalized learning opportunities for students.

  • Robust engagement, anchored in positive youth development, ensuring that schools are welcoming and empowering to students, families, and community members.

  • Continuous improvement using the school and student data to tailor programming and instruction focused on results.

The Summit Academy Charter School Community Partnership Team identifies school community needs and makes connections to community resources so that we can access their services. In addition, the Community Partnership team is responsible for the facilitation and coordination of Parent University, an initiative developed by the Parent Coordinator and Social Service Providers at Summit (Guidance Counselors, Social Worker, College & Career Readiness Coordinator).
